COVID-19 Update As Of January 16: There Are 855 New Positive Cases, 710 Cured
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. Of the 166,505 samples examined, 855 new positive cases of COVID-19 were found. "The total accumulated positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,271,649 and active cases are 8,605," as quoted from Ministry of Health data, Sunday, January 16. Today's recovered cases increased by 710 cases, bringing the total to 4,118,874 recovered people. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 3 people and a total of 144,170 people. The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 566 cases and a total of 870,920 cases. Followed by West Java with 87 new cases with a total of 709,602 cases. Furthermore, Banten with 77 new cases and a total of 133,426 cases. Also, East Java with the addition of 26 positive cases for a total of 400,361. Meanwhile, for the province with the most recovered cases today, DKI Jakarta has an additional 618 recovered cases. So that the total cases recovered to 853,591 cases.
Followed by West Java with an additional 26 cases recovered. Furthermore, East Java recorded the addition of 15 recovered cases.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Health also noted that the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens reached 67,424,918.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 12.10 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 4,164 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
So far, 176,301,979 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 119,746,532 people have received the second dose of vaccination.
While the third dose of vaccination was 1,340,060. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
