"After heavy and regretful consideration, we have postponed the 2022 Asian Indoor Athletics Championships which will take place in Nur Sultan, Kazakhstan," PB PASI wrote in a statement on Instagram.
"Regarding this, PB PASI would like to inform that the 9th Asian Indoor Championships has been postponed to February 2023 due to the spike in COVID-Omicron cases," continued PB PASI's explanation.
The 2022 Indoor Athletics Championships is PB PASI's first agenda in this year's calendar. The national athletic parent has plans to send seven athletes there.
The seven athletes were one of them Lalu Muhammad Zohri who appeared in the men's 60 meter number.
Meanwhile, the other six names are Barik Abrar and Sapwaturrahman (men's long jump), Tyas Murtiningsih (women's 60 meters), Sri Maya Sari (women's 400 meters), Maria Natalia Londa (women's long jump), and Emilia Nova (women's hurdles). .
