KPK Investigate Alleged Bribery Of North Penajam Paser Regent AGM Related To The Election Of The Chairman Of The DPD Democrat Kaltim

JAKARTA - The KPK is investigating the allocation of bribes received by North Penajam Paser Regent Abdul Gafur Mas'ud. It is still being investigated whether there is any connection with the election of the Chairperson of the Democratic DPD in East Kalimantan.

"Regarding what the alleged money received by the suspect was used for, whether it has anything to do with the agenda for the election of the chairman of the DPD for the East Kalimantan Democratic Party, the KPK is still continuing to investigate and develop it," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, Sunday, January 16. .

Therefore, the KPK asked the public to participate in supervising the process of handling this case. "However, it is not premature to conclude which parties will be involved," he continued.

Ali emphasized that the KPK has plenty of time to work on this case to completion.

"As long as there is sufficient evidence of the involvement of other parties, we will ensure that the KPK will designate him as a suspect," he said.

In this case, the KPK has also named the General Treasurer of the Balikpapan Democratic DPC, Nur Afifah Balqis, as a suspect. He is suspected of being involved in managing bribes from the inactive North Penajam Paser Regent, Abdul Gafur Mas'ud, who is also the chairman of the Balikpapan Democratic DPC.

The KPK previously explained that this case began in 2021 where the North Penajam Paser Regency Government scheduled several work projects at the PUPR and Spatial Planning and Education, Youth and Sports Offices.

He revealed that the project value is said to have reached Rp. 112 billion, with details for the multi-year project to upgrade the Sotek-Bukit Subur Road with a contract value of Rp. 58 billion and the construction of a library building worth Rp. 9.9 billion.

"Due to this project, suspect AGM as the regent allegedly ordered MI as the Acting Secretary of the North Penajam Paser Regency, suspect EH as the Head of the RT PU Service, and JM as the Head of the Education, Youth and Sports Office to collect a sum of money from the partners involved in the project. already working on a physical project," said KPK Deputy Chair Alexander Marwata.

Next, the KPK also revealed that Abdul Gafur received a sum of money allegedly related to the issuance of permits, including permits for land use rights for oil palm and bleach plants or stone crushers at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office of North Penajam Paser Regency.

Apart from being ordered to collect money, Mulyadi along with Edi and Jusman also became Abdul's confidants to manage and represent himself receiving money from. The money was used for his personal interests.

Meanwhile, the suspect Abdul and Balqis just received and managed the incoming money. This money, said Alexander, went into an account belonging to Balqis which was also used for Abdul's interests.

"In addition, suspect AGM is also suspected of having received cash in the amount of Rp. 1 billion from suspect AZ who worked on a road project with a contract value of Rp. 64 billion in North Penajam Paser Regency," Alexander explained.
