The AGO Will Decide The Fate Of The Alleged Corruption In The Charter Of Airplanes At Garuda Indonesia Next Week
JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office has not yet decided to raise the status of the alleged corruption case of blundering the price of aircraft rentals at PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) from investigation to investigation.
Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, said that next week his party will hold an expose related to the continuation of the handling of the Garuda case.
"Next week will be exposed," said Febrie when confirmed in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Sunday, January 16.
The same thing was conveyed by the Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General's Office, Supardi. He said they would only make a decision next week.
"Yes, hopefully next week we will have a decision," said Supardi.
According to him, there are two possibilities in the alleged corruption case at PT Garuda Indonesia, whether it is terminated or raised to the investigation stage. "So there are two possibilities, stop it or increase it," he said.
Previously, the Attorney General for Sanitiar, Burhanuddin, after meeting with the TNI Commander, General TNI Andika Perkasa, Friday, January 14, at the Kartika Adhyaksa Building, Jakarta, said that the Garuda case was in the discussion stage between the Attorney General's Office and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP). ).
According to Burhanuddin, the discussion was to find out whether the case was indeed a criminal act of corruption or whether there was business negligence or possible business risks. "We are still in talks between us (the Attorney General's Office) and BPKP," he said.
Investigators of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes have started an investigation into the alleged corruption case at Garuda since November 15, 2021 with the issuance of an Investigation Order Number Print-25/Fd.1/2021.
Allegations of corruption in the inflation of the rental price for the procurement of the ATR 72-600 aircraft occurred during the leadership of the President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Emirsyah Satar, who is currently being detained in connection with the alleged bribery case for the procurement of aircraft and aircraft engines from Airbus SAS and Rolls-Royce at PT Garuda Indonesia. parties have been examined, including Satar, but until now investigators have not raised the status of the case to investigation.
Burhanuddin said that in the near future his party will convey the stages in handling the Garuda case to the public.
"In the near future we will convey what the stages are and the handling of ATR and so on and we are not just ATR, we are ready to be developed," said Burhanuddin.
As for the case position, based on the 2009-2014 Company Long-Term Plan, Garuda plans to procure an additional 64 aircrafts using either a financial lease or an operation lease buy back scheme through a lessor or a company that provides services for renting goods in the form of effort.
In this case, the addition of the fleet uses a lessor agreement, in which a third party provides funds and Garuda pays it to the lessor. Payments are made in stages by taking into account the delivery time against inflation.
The realization of the RJPP is in the form of procuring 50 ATR 72-600 aircraft, which consists of purchasing 5 aircraft and leasing 45 aircraft. Meanwhile, for the procurement of 18 units of CRJ 1000, 12 of which are leases.
The main director of PT Garuda formed an aircraft rental procurement team in the business plan procedures related to the aircraft procurement. The team consisting of the Technical Directorate, the Commercial Directorate, the Operations Directorate, and the Service/Commerce Directorate conducted a study and put it in the form of a study paper.
For the procurement or lease of the aircraft, it is suspected that a criminal event has occurred which has caused state losses and has benefited the lessor.
Regarding this case, the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir, met with Burhanuddin, Tuesday, January 11, to submit data and audit results from BPKP. This data is to complete the investigation process conducted by JAMPidsus.
