East Aceh's Fish Cultivation Sector Loss IDR 12 Billion Due To Flood
ACEH - The Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of East Aceh Regency noted that the loss of the aquaculture sector due to flooding in the area reached Rp. 12 billion.
"The loss from flooding in the fisheries sector for a week reached Rp 12 billion. We report this data to the East Aceh BPBD to be forwarded to the BNPB in Jakarta," said Head of the East Aceh Regency Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Service Cut Ida Mariya in East Aceh, reported by Antara, Saturday, January 16. .
Cut Ida Mariya said that East Aceh Regency has an area of aquaculture ponds reaching 18,791 hectares. Of this number, those affected by the flood are 1,954.70 hectares.
Cut Ida Mariya said the flood-affected ponds were spread over five sub-districts in East Aceh Regency. For fishery commodities that were affected by the flood, they consisted of vaname shrimp, milkfish, tilapia, saline and snapper.
The five sub-districts are Julok District, Sungai Raya District, Rantau Seulamat District, West Pereulak District, and Pereulak District.
"The impact of the flood at the end of this year has damaged many community ponds, especially fish farming, resulting in crop failure," said Cut Ida Mariya.
Meanwhile, East Aceh Regent Hasballah asked relevant agencies to report data on damage caused by floods, including the fisheries sector. This is important for efforts to help people affected by the natural disaster
"The head of the OPD immediately updates the latest data regardless of the form of damage to damaged infrastructure. This must be implemented immediately so that the central government can find out what the needs of the people affected by the disaster are," said Hasballah.
