34,196 Traffic Violators In Central Java Netted Through ETLE, Highest In Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Director of Traffic for the Central Java Police, Kombes Pol. Agus Suryonugroho said traffic violations that had been verified through the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) ticket application in this province, in the first two weeks of 2022, were the highest in Indonesia.
According to Agus in a press release in Semarang, Saturday, there were 34,196 traffic violations that were handled using an ETLE ticket on January 3-15, 2022.
He said the number was divided into 33,780 violations by motorcycle riders and 416 cars.
"This number is the largest compared to other regions in Indonesia," he said.
For the most types of violations, he said, did not wear a helmet and rode more than two people.
As for car drivers, the most violations are not wearing a seat belt.
Agus reminded motorists to always obey traffic regulations because the ETLE ticket has been implemented in all regions in Central Java.
It was also confirmed that thousands of ETLE cameras had been installed on traffic police helmets in all police stations.
The National Police Chief's priority program in law enforcement efforts, he said, is one of the efforts to reduce direct interactions with traffic violators.
