Mahfud MD Becomes Ad Interim Minister Of Home Affairs, Where's Tito Karnavian?
JAKARTA - Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian asked the Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD as his replacement for the time being.
This is as stated in the letter with the head of the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia dated August 28 with Number 821.1 / 4837 / SJ.
"In connection with the letter of the Minister of State Secretary Number B-642 / M.Sesneg / D-3 / AN.00.03 / 08.2020 dated 27 August 2020 regarding the Appointment of the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs as the Ad Interim Minister of Home Affairs, together with respectfully conveyed that the drafting of the script signed by the Minister of Home Affairs Ad Interim is as follows, "reads the letter signed by the Secretary General of the Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Hudori, Friday, August 28.
The letter was addressed to all institutions operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs, such as the National Border Management Agency (BNPP), IPDN, Expert Staff of the Ministry, DKPP, KORPRI, to the Head of Village Government Offices.
Responding to this, Secretary of the State Secretariat (Sesmensetneg) Setya Utama said Tito Karnavian would carry out his assignment to Singapore on August 28 to August 30.
"For that, according to the provisions, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs was appointed as the Ad Interim Minister of Home Affairs," he said.
Meanwhile, through his written statement, the Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of the Ministry of Home Affairs Benni Irwan explained that the letter had been corrected and canceled. The letter, he said, was only addressed to the Ministry of Home Affairs internally.
"The letter has been corrected and canceled. Previously it was made for internal administration because the Minister of Home Affairs will be out of town. But because Saturday and Sunday there is no letter administration at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the letter is no longer needed," he concluded.
