General Andika's Promise After Received Information There Was An Allegation Of TNI Members Involved In The Ministry Of Defense Satellite Project Case
JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office immediately stepped on the gas, a warrant for the investigation of the alleged violation of the Satellite Project of the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan) for the 2015-2016 period. There are even indications of the involvement of members of the TNI in the alleged case.
The Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General Andika, spoke about the alleged involvement. He said he had been summoned by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam), on Tuesday 11 January to talk about this.
During the meeting, said Andika, there were indications of the involvement of several TNI personnel. The legal process is now starting.
"Therefore, I am ready to support the government's decision to carry out a legal process," Andika said after meeting the Attorney General at the AGO, Friday, January 14.
Andika emphasized that the TNI personnel involved will be processed by his side.
"So we are waiting for the names that are indeed within our authority," said Andika.
Previously, President Joko Widodo ordered that cases of alleged violations of the Ministry of Defense's satellite law, which cost the state more than Rp800 billion, were thoroughly investigated.
"The president ordered me to continue and resolve this case," said Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD, Wednesday, January 13 yesterday.
The government has held several meetings to discuss the issue. In fact, Mahfud has coordinated with Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Communication and Information Minister Johnny G Plate, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa, and Attorney General ST Burhanuddin.
The Ministry of Defense satellite project took place in 2015, at which time the Ministry of Defense was led by Ryamizard Ryacudu. The project is related to satellite management for the orbital slot of 123 degrees East Longitude.
He explained that on January 19, 2015, the Garuda-1 satellite had left its orbital slot of 123 degrees East Longitude (BT), resulting in a vacancy in Indonesia's management.
