Disturbed Health Condition, SHINee's Taemin Transfers Military Division

JAKARTA - SHINee's Taemin will fill the remaining time of his military service as a public worker. Previously, he chose to be a member of a military band but a condition forced him to move.

Friday, January 14, SM Entertainment's agency announced this news to the public. Taemin is said to be experiencing symptoms of depression and anxiety.

"This is SM Entertainment. As of January 14, Taemin was transferred from a military band to an additional service," the agency quoted Soompi as saying on the same day.

"Because of the symptoms of depression and anxiety that Taemin had experienced before (military/enlistment), he continued to receive treatment and therapy while in the army," they continued.

However, recently, these symptoms have worsened so that the military considers Taemin impossible to continue the military and treatment at the same time.

“Taemin plans to fulfill his military duty as a public worker. We apologize for causing you concern with this news," said SM Entertainment.

The agency also explained that they continue to focus on treatment so that Taemin can focus and be stable in the future.

The word 'Taemin' immediately became a trending topic and fans sent prayers so that their idol could undergo the military smoothly.

It is known that the youngest member of SHINee has been serving in the military since May 31, 2021. At that time, he was accompanied by the three group members: Minho, Onew, and Key. Taemin is scheduled to complete his military service this year.
