The Target For Elderly Vaccination Is Reached, Pemko Medan Immediately Gives Children Vaccines And Boosters

MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution said his party had achieved the vaccination target for the elderly. After that, Pemko Medan will simultaneously vaccinate children starting Monday, January 17.

Later, the Medan City Government will provide the Sinovac vaccine to the elementary school students.

"The vaccination target for the elderly (elderly) has been achieved. Therefore, vaccination of children 6 to 11 years old in Medan can be carried out using the Sinovac vaccine," said Bobby Nasution, Thursday, December 13.

He hopes that vaccinations will be carried out in schools so that order is maintained.

"Because children are treated differently than adults. In addition, they must be accompanied by their parents," he advised.

Regarding the Booster vaccination, Bobby Nasution said the City of Medan could start it. This is because the target for vaccination in general and the elderly has been achieved.

"The booster has been allowed here, but we are still pursuing the elderly vaccination doses 1 and 2. For the booster dose, the third dose, there are 20 thousand doses of Pfizer, because what will be injected is for the Pfizer type Booster. The provisions have also been explained, namely the second vaccine more than six months," said Bobby Nasution.

The total number of elderly vaccinations that have been carried out is more than 204,000. From that amount, Pemko Medan will recalculate how many elderly people have passed the second vaccine period of more than six months. Especially for booster vaccination, only half the vial or half of the vaccination doses 1 and 2.

"That's what we will prioritize, getting vaccinated, it will also be carried out on Monday," said Bobby Nasution.
