Papua Health Office: Expired COVID-19 Vaccine Definitely Not Used
PAPUA - The Head of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Papua Provincial Health Office, Aaron Rumainum, confirmed that no expired COVID-19 vaccine was injected into the community.
"I ensure that the COVID-19 vaccine that has been injected has not expired," Aaron told Antara in Jayapura, Thursday, January 13.
He admitted that there are indeed vaccines that are nearing expiration, such as AstraZaneca, which still has 90 doses and will expire on Monday, January 17.
Apart from AstraZaneca, he said, there is also a Moderna which will expire on Sunday, January 22, so that before that date it will use it.
"What is certain is that if the expiration date has entered, the COVID-19 vaccine will not be used," said Aaron.
People don't have to worry about expired vaccinations. When asked about the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination in Papua, Aaron admitted that it was continuously being implemented, not only by the health service, but also by the TNI and Polri.
"Although there are still many residents who are reluctant to be vaccinated, we from the health side work hand in hand to provide understanding to the community so that they are willing to be injected with the vaccine so that communal immunity will be formed," said Aaron.
