AMBON - The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform has approved the addition of two new Polres in the Maluku Regional Police jurisdiction earlier this year.

The Southeast Maluku Regency area has been joining the Tual Regional Police after the division of the region became a new autonomous region some time ago. According to him, the approval of the establishment of two new Polres in the Maluku Regional Police's jurisdiction was known after a video conference took place yesterday between the Kapolda and the National Police Chief.
"Maluku is an archipelago consisting of many small and large islands and there are nine Polres," he said.
However, in line with the addition of new autonomous regions consisting of nine regencies and two cities, the government also approved the addition of two new Polres to shorten the span of control of public services and security and to maintain kamtibmas.
