East Java Police Still Hunting For Men Kicking Offerings In Semeru
SURABAYA - The East Java Police Team is still hunting for the perpetrators of the offerings at the Mount Semeru disaster area, Lumajang Regency.
"Until now, we are still pursuing the perpetrators," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Kombes Gatot Repli Handoko, quoted by Antara, Thursday, January 13.
The pursuit of the person who kicked the offerings, he said, was carried out in a number of areas, including his place of origin in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
The middle-ranking officer of the National Police hopes that the perpetrators will immediately surrender to account for their actions.
"Until now the perpetrators have not surrendered. We hope that the perpetrators will immediately surrender," he continued.
Previously, the East Java Regional Police had formed a team to chase down a man who kicked an offering at the Mount Semeru disaster site, Lumajang.
Gatot said his party was also searching and monitoring the social media of the person who uploaded the video of the man kicking the offering.
Regarding the identity of the volunteer who kicked the offering, Kombes Gatot could not explain in more detail.
His party also gave an appeal to the community and volunteers to maintain conduciveness around the Mount Semeru disaster area.
"Because so far Lumajang has started to be peaceful, starting to be safe, and starting to get good. Don't let it be damaged by videos containing SARA and we must respect the local wisdom of the area," he said.
Previously, a viral video of a person wearing a black vest cursing the use of offerings in the Mount Semeru area, Lumajang Regency. In the video, he threw offerings in front of him, and some were even kicked.
DPD Prajaniti Hindu Indonesia East Java also reported the man who kicked the offering at the Mount Semeru disaster site to the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) of the East Java Regional Police, on Monday, January 10.
