Polda Metro Denies Wild Issues About Two Foreigners Escape Quarantine, This Is What Actually Happened

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya denied the rumors circulating about the escape of two foreign nationals (foreigners) from the quarantine hotel. In fact, what happened was that the two foreigners failed to come to Indonesia.

"In fact, they did not fly to Indonesia. They did not (or, red) cancel," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Thursday, January 13.

However, the data for the two foreigners who originally came to Indonesia using Travel services has not been erased. So, it is as if they are already in Indonesia and are not undergoing the quarantine process.

"But the data from the travel agency and the data that came into the Task Force (COVID-19, ed) are still there at the hotel they are going to," said Zulpan.

Apart from that, Zulpan emphasized that in handling quarantine cases, the police would apply criminal law. However, after the quarantine cases were handled by the COVID-19 Task Force.

"If the Task Force reports to the police if there are people who should be quarantined for 7 days but on the second and third days they are not seen, they will be reported to the police and the police who will take legal action," said Zulpan.
