The Vice President's Great Hope For Madura, Could Be A Pioneer Of Halal Research
MADURA - Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin hopes that Madura Island in East Java Province can be a pioneer in developing research related to halal products in the country.
"Our big hope is that Madura Island will become one of the pioneers for the development of halal product research as well as a halal lifestyle in the country," said the Vice President when inaugurating the Halal Center at Trunojoyo University Madura (UTM), reported by Antara, Thursday, January 13.
The Vice President said that the Government encouraged research collaboration and innovation so that Indonesia could produce its own materials for the domestic halal product industry.
"The government strongly encourages quality research collaboration so that Indonesia can produce its own raw materials and halal products, which so far still have to be imported," he said.
In addition, the Vice President also encouraged all universities in East Java Province, including on Madura Island, to collaborate with each other in conducting research and producing innovations for the development of halal products.
"The role of universities in advancing the halal industry is not enough to stop at building a halal center, but continuing to enrich the research treasures of halal products," he said. .
He emphasized that the existence of sharia MSME actors is an important key to making Indonesia the center of the world's halal product industry.
"Therefore, business incubation is very important. In addition to local governments, I ask Kadin (Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) together with MES (Sharia Economic Society) to develop incubation for Muslim entrepreneurs in the regions," said the vice president.
