Thank You Lee Jung Jae And Jung Ho Yeon After Squid Game Scored SAG Awards Nominations Record

JAKARTA - The Squid Game series from South Korea is again making history with the 2022 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. With four nominations, Netflix's Squid Game has become a non-English television series that received a SAG Awards nomination.

The four nominations were Best Television Series Actor, Best Television Series Actress, and Best Action Ensemble and Best Stunt Action Performance.

Squid Game competes with series such as Succession, The Morning Show, The Handmaid's Tale, and Yellowstone.

In the Best Television Series Actor category, Lee Jung Jae competed with Brian Cox (Succession), Jeremy Strong (Succession), Billy Crudup (The Morning Show), and Kieran Culkin (Succession).

Jung Ho Yeon in the Best Television Series Actress category competed with Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show), Reese Witherspoon (The Morning Show), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid's Tale), and Sarah Snook (Succession).

This news was greeted by Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon with gratitude. Through their Instagram, they expressed their appreciation for the SAG committee.

“I am surprised and excited to be nominated, not just individually but for the entire Squid Game team! I remember the precious moments we shared together, filming six rounds of the game," said Lee Jung Jae on Thursday, January 13.

“Working on this series, and acting for the first time, I thought making something together, and “as an ensemble” was the true value for our environment,” said Jung Ho Yeon.

The model also feels proud to be side by side with Hollywood actresses. "I'm just happy to know that my photo will be featured with Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Elisabeth Moss, and Sarah Snook," said Jung Ho Yeon.

The SAG voting process will take place on January 19-25, 2022. The highlight of the SAG Awards will be held on February 27 at Barker Hangar, Santa Monica.
