Angry Juventus Defeated By Inter In Italian Super Cup Final With 5 Seconds Remaining, Allegri: Looks Like The Devil Created Football
JAKARTA - Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri was angry after his team lost at the last minute against Inter Milan in the 2021/2022 Italian Super Cup final. In the match which took place on Thursday, January 13 in the early hours of WIB, Juventus fell when the match had 5 seconds left.
"It looks like the devil created football, we did this naivety. We could have avoided a penalty and scored in the first 10 minutes," Allegri said after the match was quoted by Football Italia.
"This defeat is so burning, losing with 5 seconds remaining. It hurts," continued the coach who holds six Italian League trophies.
Indeed, the meeting between Juventus and Inter Milan was fierce. Evidently the match continued to extra round because in normal time, Inter Milan vs Juventus played equally strong with a score of 1-1.
Competing at the enemy headquarters, the Bianconeri took the lead through Weston McKennie in the 25th minute. However, they conceded after making a fatal mistake that led to a penalty 10 minutes later.
Lautaro Martinez stepped up as an executioner and made the score 1-1. After that, the numbers on the scoreboard continued to hold until the referee decided to continue the match into extra time in 2x15 minutes.
That's where Allegri's frustration comes from. Alexis Sanchez, who entered in the 75th minute, made the difference in this match. The Chilean star became an important actor in Inter Milan's victory in the top party.
Alexis Sanchez scored a goal just before the final whistle, when the game entered the 120+1 minute.
Apart from this painful defeat, Paulo Dybala et al must learn and work even harder to get revenge for getting better results in other competitions such as the Italian League.
The Old Lady herself is currently still on the path to the Scudetto although it takes extra effort. Juventus is ranked fifth in the Italian League standings with 38 points, which is 11 points adrift of Inter Milan at the top.
In addition, the Bianconerri still have a chance to win the Champions League this season. Allegri and his team penetrated the round of 16 and served Villarreal.
