DKI DPRD Worries That Covid-19 Protocol Is Not Supervised When The Cinema Opens

JAKARTA - Member of Commission A DPRD DKI Jakarta, Lukmanul Hakim, is worried that there is no monitoring of health protocols in the cinema building by DKI Jakarta Provincial Government officials or managers. Lukmanul rejected the plan of DKI Governor Anies Baswedan to immediately open cinemas in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Who will try to closely monitor the COVID-19 protocol? The rules can be made, but the supervision will definitely be weak. I ask the Governor not to open the cinema first," Lukmanul said when contacted, Friday, August 28.

According to him, the cinema could become a new cluster of COVID-19 transmission if forced to keep it open. Because just like offices, the audience room in the cinema only uses the air duct from the air conditioning machine

As a result, the concentration of the corona virus that comes out through someone's saliva will collect in one room.

"What we are worried about right now is office clusters, air-conditioned rooms. So, if the cinema opens, it will become a new classroom. The problem will get bigger in the future," said Lukmanul.

Previously, Anies revealed a number of reasons for allowing the opening of cinemas, at a time when the development of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta was increasing. Anies said, cinema has its own uniqueness.

First, audiences usually don't talk to each other when watching a film in the theater room. This is different when in cafes and restaurants, where visitors chat with one another.

"In the cinema, everyone is silent. If there is a conversation, then the conversation is between people who know. There are rarely conversations between people who do not know," said Anies.

Then, when the audience chats with a familiar person, the direction of the chat position is done in one direction. All face to face in the same direction, namely staring at the screen of the film player.

"Everything is talking in the same direction, not face to face interactions. This is a rather unique nature of the activity," said Anies.

Besides that, it is about setting up the place. In watching movies at the cinema, the manager can arrange where the audience will sit. In contrast to open-air shows, where there is a potential crowd because there are no seating arrangements.

"This is similar to the situation with an airplane flight. An airplane has a small room, then the seats are tight, but the sitting arrangement can be arranged, who sits where, then air circulation can also be arranged using facilities in accordance with standard health protocols. , "explained Anies.
