KPK Investigator Novel Baswedan Is Positive For COVID-19
JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Novel Baswedan tested positive for COVID-19 after carrying out a swab test. This was confirmed by the Acting Spokesperson for the KPK in the field of prosecution Ali Fikri.
Novel Baswedan became one of 9 employees of several KPK directorate units who were declared infected with COVID-19. They run a swab test conducted by the Ministry of Health's BBTLKPP.
"That's right. The information we received was one of the investigators who based on the swab test it was confirmed that Corona was positive," Ali said in his written statement, Friday, August 28.
He said, currently Novel and 8 other KPK employees have carried out mitigation of virus transmission. "Some employees who were exposed to COVID-19 have taken mitigation measures with independent isolation," he said.
In monitoring those who were exposed, the KPK also coordinated with the closest health facility to where Novel Baswedan and other employees lived.
"The KPK has coordinated and cooperated with the nearest medical service from the employee's residence for further monitoring in the recovery process," Ali explained.
Meanwhile Novel Basweda admitted that he was indeed exposed to COVID-19. However, he did not experience any health problems. "Yes (in good condition, ed). Thank God I feel healthy," he said.
Previously, there were 9 employees from several units of the KPK directorate, 4 non-employees, and a prisoner who tested positive for COVID-19.
It was explained that they were confirmed to be exposed to COVID-19 after running a swab test conducted by the Ministry of Health's BBTLKPP some time ago. After that, they carried out independent isolation and for prisoners who tested positive are now undergoing isolation and treatment at the Police Hospital.
