The Ministry Of Health Allows Regions To Hold Booster Vaccinations For Non-Elderly If These Conditions Are Fulfilled
JAKARTA - The booster vaccination has been started since last Wednesday, January 12. This third dose of COVID-19 vaccination is prioritized for the elderly and vulnerable groups or immunocompromised patients.
The Ministry of Health also allows regions to carry out booster vaccinations for non-elderly, namely the general public aged 18 years and over if they meet certain vaccination achievement requirements.
This is seen in the Circular Letter of the Director-General of Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) of the Ministry of Health Number HK.01.01/11/252/2022 regarding the Advanced Dose (Booster) COVID-19 Vaccination.
The implementation of the vaccination program for the advanced dose (booster) targeting non-elderly is carried out in districts/cities that have reached a total dose 1 coverage of at least 70 percent and dose coverage of 1 elderly at least 60 percent", wrote the Director-General of P2P of the Ministry of Health, Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, quoted on Thursday, January 13.
A booster vaccination is given with a different type of primary vaccine (first and second doses) received by the previous vaccination target. There are several regimens of giving booster vaccination with the combination method.
For primary vaccines or the first and second doses using Sinovac, a half dose of Pfizer booster or half dose of AstraZeneca will be given. Meanwhile, the AstraZeneca primary vaccine will be given a half dose of Moderna booster or half dose of Pfizer.
"If there is a new follow-up dose regimen for the vaccination program, it will be announced later", said Maxi.

How to register for a booster vaccination
The current requirement for booster vaccination is that Indonesian citizens have received the full dose of vaccine (first and second) within the previous six months. This vaccination is prioritized for the elderly and vulnerable groups.
If they meet the requirements, the public can register for a booster vaccination on the PeduliLindung website or application. Through this platform, they can get tickets and vaccination schedules at the appointed time.
The trick first is to open the Cares Protect application and log in with the account that has been registered. Next, click the "Profile" menu and select "Vaccination Status and Covid-19 Test Results".
Furthermore, the status and schedule of booster vaccinations will appear in each account. Then, to check the vaccine ticket, go to the "History and Vaccine Ticket" menu.
There is another way if the priority group has not yet received a ticket and vaccination schedule when checking on the PeduliLindungi application, which is to come directly to the nearest vaccination service facility by bringing an ID card and proof of vaccination doses 1 and 2.
