Supercopa De Espana Semifinals: Madrid's Dramatic 3-2 Win Over Barcelona

JAKARTA - Real Madrid won dramatically 3-2 over Barcelona in the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup which was held at the King Fahd International Stadium, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Thursday morning.

According to Antara, three Real Madrid goals were scored by Vinicius, Karim Benzema and Federico Valverde, respectively. Meanwhile, Luuk de Jong and Ansu Fati scored goals for Barcelona.

This victory led Real Madrid to the final of the tournament. They will face the winner between Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao.

This was also Real Madrid's 100th win over Barcelona in an official match.

The first chance was created by Real Madrid in the 4th minute. Asension feeds Benzema on the edge of the box.

The French forward didn't hesitate to shoot, but the ball was still too high over Ter Stegen's goal.

Barcelona tried to retaliate, but still couldn't create any dangerous chances.

Real Madrid threatened again in the 7th minute. This time Vinicius's shot was still thin from the Barcelona goal after receiving a pass from Asensio.

Barcelona indeed had more possession of the ball, but they found it difficult to dismantle Madrid's defense.

Real Madrid got a golden opportunity in the 11th minute. Luka Modric provided a through ball to Vinicius, who stabbed into the Barca box before firing home.

Unfortunately, the ball still leads right into Ter Stegen's arms.

Real Madrid finally broke the deadlock in the 25th minute. Karim Benzema snatched the ball as Sergio Busquet caught his eye and provided a through ball to Vinicius.

The Brazilian used his speed to get into the Barcelona penalty area before beating Ter Stegen with a flick of his left foot. The score became 1-0.

Barcelona immediately responded to the goal with two golden opportunities through Luuk de Jong's header from close range in the 30th and 32nd minutes.

However, both of them could still be caught by Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

In the 38th minute, Marco Asensio created an opportunity for Madrid through a kick from outside the penalty box. However, the ball is still too easy to catch Ter Stegen.

There were no additional chances and goals until the first half was over.

Xavi made changes in the second half, Pedri coming on for Frankie de Jong and EZ Abde coming on for new Barcelona debutant Ferran Torres.

Substitution Xavi almost paid off when Pedri kick from outside the penalty box in the 50th minute. However, the ball still hit the Real Madrid players and went wide to the right side of the goal.

Barcelona played better in the early minutes of the second half.

In the 54th minute, Ousmane Dembele threatened a shot from outside the penalty box. However, the pace of the ball still has not met the target.

Xavi made another change in the 66th minute. Ansu Fati is playing for the first time since a lengthy injury, the Spaniard replacing Luuk de Jong.

Both teams played fairly evenly, with 50-50 possession.

Ancelotti brought on Rodrygo to replace Asensio in the 68th minute.

A minute later, Real Madrid could have regained the lead had Karim Benzema's shot from close range not hit the post.

Madrid's second goal finally arrived in the 71st minute. Ter Stegen made a save from Benzema's shot, the ball fell to Carvajal's feet before being sent into the box for Benzema to score. Madrid won 2-1.

Both teams made changes, Barcelona included Nico and Depay. While Valverde replaces Luka Modrid.

Xavi's substitution paid off. Barcelona managed to equalize in the 84th minute. Jordi Alba's bait into the penalty box was successfully headed by Ansu Fati.

The second half ended with the score 2-2 and the match went into extra time.

Real Madrid took the lead for the third time in the 98th minute. Federico Valverde completed a counter-attack and made the score 3-2.

Barcelona almost equalized in the 108th minute. Ez Abde passed Casemiro and fired on the edge of the box, but the ball narrowly missed Courtois' goal.

Until the match was over, Real Madrid were able to maintain their lead and managed to win the match dramatically.
