Two Truck Drivers At Kramat Jati Market Claim To Be Victims Of Money And Mobile Theft
JAKARTA - A number of youths committed theft of valuables in a truck parked at the Kramat Jati Main Market, East Jakarta. The perpetrators managed to steal a number of items belonging to the driver, in the form of cellphones and money.
The action of the perpetrator was caught on amateur video. A number of men were seen carrying out theft from inside the truck's wheelhouse. The perpetrators freely carry out their actions without anyone daring to reprimand them.
When carrying out the action, the perpetrator used the wheelhouse which was left by the driver to unload the cargo in the back.
According to Rajimun, one of the truck drivers from Brebes, he confirmed the theft which was recorded by amateur video.
"What is clear is that there was a theft in the parking lot of Kramat Jati Market around dawn. There were three perpetrators. When they were chased, they ran behind," the middle-aged man told reporters, Wednesday, January 12.
According to information, theft with this mode has often occurred, making truck drivers restless.
"The driver's cellphone and wallet were taken. The mode was the driver was resting, when the driver was in the back opening the tarp to unload, which was tricked (stolen) in front of him. I have also experienced theft of cellphones at Kramat Jati Market," he said.
Rajimun hopes that this incident will be followed up by the police so that the perpetrators are immediately arrested.
"The theft-prone hours start at 02.00 WIB until before dawn," he said.
A similar complaint was also experienced by a truck driver named Saifudin from Magelang. He had known about the theft for a long time. But Saifudin could only remain silent because he was afraid.
"What was taken were cellphones and money. I once unloaded the engine, the engine was still running and all the money in the car was taken away. Usually they act until dawn, when the driver sleeps they carry out the action," he said.
The drivers hope that the police will take firm action against the perpetrators.
