Kemenpora Will Supervise U-19 National Team Budget Management

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) will supervise and assist in the management of the budget used by the Indonesian U-19 national team to hold training camps (TC) in Croatia.

The process of monitoring and mentoring is important so that the national plateaus run smoothly, especially for budget management so that there are no problematic findings later on.

"Every MoU for Pelatnas, Mr Menpora, always emphasizes that budget management must be carried out transparently and in accordance with the provisions," said the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) for the Improvement of National Sports Achievement (PPON) of the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, Yayan Rubaeni, quoted from Antara, Friday, August 28.

"Therefore, today we come to the PSSI national plate to see directly from morning to night how the National Budget activities are facilitated by the State Budget. This needs to be done so that budget management is in accordance with the agreed and signed MoU provisions," Yayan added.

Besides supervising, Kemenpora is also committed to providing assistance. The government will move forward if there are things that hinder the national team when holding the national plate.

Especially for football, with all the support given, the government hopes that they can achieve the best achievements at the 2020 U-19 Asian Cup and of course at the 2021 U-20 World Cup.

"We will carry out the process of monitoring and mentoring to all sports that receive the 2020 National Training Program funds," he said.

The U-19 national team is scheduled to leave for Croatia starting at the end of August 2020. The activity there is a continuation of the TC in Jakarta, whose series of activities began on 23 July 2020.

Apart from training, the U-19 national team will take part in the U-19 international friendly tournament on 2-8 September 2020 in Croatia. Apart from Indonesia and Croatia, Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia participated in the competition.

The U-19 national team TC was held in preparation for the 2020 U-19 Asian Cup which took place in Uzbekistan on 14-31 October 2020. However, based on the latest information, there is a possibility that this tournament will be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After the U-19 Asian Cup, the national team will compete in the 2021 U-20 World Cup which will be held on 20 May-12 June 2021 in Indonesia.
