The Chair Of The West Sumatra DPRD Concerned That Online Prostitution Is Rampant, Asks The Police To Take Action To Reveal The Mastermind
PADANG - West Sumatra DPRD chairman Supardi asked the police to reveal online prostitution activities that are rife in the province.
"I believe that online prostitution has its own network and market, so the perpetrators behind all of this must be revealed," Supardi said in Padang, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 12.
According to this Gerindra politician, the practice of online prostitution continues in West Sumatra because the authorities have not taken this issue seriously.
Moreover, yesterday there were five police personnel who were sanctioned for being the backers of prostitution under the guise of a Spa and this must be a joint focus to eliminate immoral acts.
"There must be a joint commitment to address this issue so that this illegal practice will no longer occur in West Sumatra," he said.
He appreciated the steps taken by the West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Teddy Minahasa Putra who sanctioned five West Sumatra Police personnel who were suspected of being backers of prostitution practices in the city of Padang.
According to him, although the sanctions given are in the form of mutations, this can be a deterrent effect for those who are the backers of this illicit practice.
"This is not only for members of the Police but also for the TNI and others so that they no longer do the same thing," he said.
Regarding the existence of this prostitution practice in Minang, it does not only depend on regulations alone but rather on economic issues.
Especially during this pandemic period, the necessities of life are increasing, but people have difficulty increasing their income, so this shortcut was chosen by the woman.
"This requires joint steps to find a solution to this problem," he said.
