Hold Swab Test, Persebaya Sindir PSSI And PT LIB

JAKARTA - Persebaya Surabaya held a comprehensive swab test on Thursday, August 27. All management, coaches, officials and players have specimens taken to find out whether they have been exposed to COVID-19 or not.

This swab test is an initiative of the club management nicknamed the Bajul Ijo. The Persebaya manager, Candra Wahyudi, also insinuated the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) and PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB).

He said, this test was carried out by Persebaya because there were no detailed instructions about the team's preparation ahead of training to date from PSSI and PT LIB. In fact, Persebaya really hopes that PSSI and PT Liga will immediately make clear rules.

"But until now it is not clear either, so Persebaya will have to move," said the manager on the club's official website.

Candra said that the swab test was one of the efforts of the management to ensure that the Persebaya players were in good condition. "The results later could be one reason for us to continue team activities," he added.

Meanwhile the Persebaya coach also welcomed the holding of the swab test on the players and coaches. He hopes that no player or coach will test positive for COVID-19. Aji admitted that he was ready to hold an exercise if he already knew the results of the swab test.

"If the results are as we expect, we will quickly do the exercises," he continued.

The former Persela Lamongan coach said that the training would later apply strict health protocols. He also emphasized the players to stay in shape during the adaptation period for new habits.

The players are asked to be careful in carrying out activities inside and outside the house. Included in choosing food consumption.

"We only provide understanding to players that they are professional players. Professional players can manage themselves, which ones are good and which are not good for them," said Aji.

"It is impossible for the management or the coaching team to follow them wherever they go, our job is to warn them. They can go out and carry out activities as long as it is important," he concluded.
