After Being Arrested, OJK Promises To Involve Police Investigators In Mediation For Unit Link Insurance Victims Today

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) stated that it would help mediate dozens of customers who were victims of unit link insurance by involving investigators from the police.

OJK spokesman Sekar Putih Jarot said that this effort was taken because the mediation initiated by the authority for customers and insurance parties reached a dead end in yesterday's meeting.

"The involvement of OJK investigators is expected to provide legal views regarding this case," he said in a press statement quoted Wednesday, January 12.

Previously, on Tuesday, January 11, dozens of customers from various regions visited the OJK office at Wisma Mulia Jakarta to ask for the continuation of their case after previously complaining to the DPR last December.

These customers want OJK to facilitate meetings with three insurance companies that are considered absent from their obligations to customers.

"Through the mediation, it is hoped that an agreement will emerge between the two parties based on the agreement that has been agreed. However, yesterday's meeting has not reached a common ground because the atmosphere of the meeting is not conducive so that the insurance company has not had time to convey settlement options," said Sekar.

Based on the information gathered by the editors, the demands of these customers are to want the insurance to return their funds in full in accordance with the agreed policy agreement. Meanwhile, the three guarantee companies suspected of being involved in this matter are AXA Mandiri, Prudential, and AIA.
