Composition Of Competent Players, Satria Muda Aims To Defend The IBL Title

JAKARTA – The Satria Muda Pertamina basketball team is ready to defend the title in the 2022 IBL season. This target is supported by an even composition of players on all lines.

The squad that Satria Muda has prepared for this season was officially introduced on Tuesday, January 11, at the BritAma Arena, North Jakarta. The defending champions will be strengthened by 15 players under the leadership of coach Youbel Sondakh.

"Our target remains and always wants to win the title this season, we have prepared ourselves optimally and hope to stand at the top at the end of the season," Sondakh said in an official statement obtained by VOI.

Sondakh's upbringing contestants were again strengthened by two foreign players from America. The two players were Elijah Foster and William Tinsley IV.

These two names are no strangers to the highest caste of national basketball. They had previously tasted the competitive atmosphere in Indonesia in the 2020 season.

At that time, Foster was recorded as strengthening Satria Muda, but during the course of the competition he could not continue because of the pandemic. Meanwhile, Tinsley played for Prawira Bandung.

"I want to complete an unfinished mission with Satria Muda, my journey in the last 2020 season was not finished, I came back with greater hunger and ready to work together to win the title," said Foster.

Meanwhile, a quite striking change in Satria Muda's body is the presence of several young players, such as Antoni Erga (22), Kelvin Sanjaya (21), and Argus Sanyudy (22).

Satria Muda will play the IBL 2022 season opener on Saturday, January 15, against Pelita Jaya Bakrie at the Bung Karno Basketball Hall, Jakarta. This is a replay of the final match at the IBL 2021.
