Tigers Enter Lubuk Talang Mukomuko Settlement, Restless Residents Forced To Tie Livestock In The Backyard

MUKOMUKO - Air Hitam Natural Resources Conservation Resort deployed officers to repel Sumatran tigers that prey on residents' livestock at the Lubuk Talang Transmigration Settlement Unit, Malin Deman District, Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province.

"We may carry out evictions, turning him back to where he was in the forest," said the Head of the Air Hitam Natural Resources Conservation Resort, Abu Kamel in a written statement, Mukomuko, Antara, Wednesday, January 12.

According to him, a team of officers from the Air Hitam Natural Resources Conservation Resort and other relevant agencies today headed to the Lubuk Talang Transmigration Settlement Unit to ward off tigers roaming the residential area.

"We didn't set a trap. Because it was suspected that there were four tigers based on news from friends, we might expel them," he said.

Head of RT IV of the Lubuk Talang Transmigration Settlement Unit, Maman, previously said that the appearance of tigers had caused unrest in Lubuk Talang residents. Residents try to protect livestock from the threat of tigers.

"We tie the cattle behind the house, we don't want to lose," he said.
