Erick Thohir Reports Alleged Corruption In Aircraft Procurement To The AGO, Garuda Indonesia Boss: We Fully Support
JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Suraputra responded to reports of alleged corruption in the procurement of the Garuda ATR-72 Series 600 aircraft to the Attorney General's Office. He said that his party was ready to fully support the investigation from the Attorney General's Office.
"In connection with the investigation steps from the Indonesian Attorney General's Office as a follow-up to the report of the Indonesian SOE Minister Erick Thohir regarding indications of corruption in the procurement of aircraft that occurred several years ago at Garuda, we will of course ensure that we will fully support the investigation," he said in an official statement, Tuesday. Furthermore, Irfan also said that his party would follow up on any investigation needs submitted as part of efforts to enforce good corporate governance (GCG).
"Garuda is committed to supporting every effort to increase the Company's transparency and accountability in every business activity," he said.
Irfan said that the move was in line with the efforts of the Indonesian Ministry of SOEs to ensure that business practices within SOEs were in accordance with GCG principles. This is also a fundamental aspect of the corporate transformation mission that Garuda is currently carrying out.
"To make Garuda a healthy business entity, not only in terms of financial and operational performance, but also supported by a sound and solid corporate governance foundation in accelerating future business performance," he said.

"Especially today what the Attorney General's Office conveyed ATR-72-600, we are submitting investigative evidence. Because we are no longer accusing each other, but facts must be given. So it's not an accusation," he said.
