Police Name 15 Suspects Of Clashes In Kendari
KENDARI - Investigators from the Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) Regional Police arrested 15 people who are strongly suspected of being involved in inter-group clashes in Kendari City.
The Head of Public Relations of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police Kombes Fery Walintukan said 15 suspects had already been detained in the Polda cell.
"15 people have been named suspects and are undergoing detention after investigators have sufficient evidence according to existing legal provisions," said Fery, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 11.
The suspects are charged with being responsible for alleged unlawful acts in three qualifications, namely incitement, vandalism and maltreatment.
In investigating the crime, the team of investigators has asked for information about 42 people who are aware of the events of December 16, 2021, which caused one person to die and a dozen others to be injured.
Investigators also collect information and data to reveal the possibility of individuals supplying funds.
"The identities of a number of the perpetrators involved have been pocketed by investigators but they are still being searched," he said.
Deputy Chairperson of the Southeast Sulawesi DPRD, Nursalam Lada, said law enforcement was a solution to solve every problem that contained a crime.
"All parties must support law enforcement without favoritism because criminals are troubling. There is no such thing as closeness," he said.
