Ridwan Kamil Ensures West Java Is Still Safe Even Though 14 People Are Exposed To Omicron
BOGOR - The Governor of West Java (Jabar) Ridwan Kamil ensured that his area was still safe even though there were 14 positive people infected with the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
"While it is under control, there are 50 million people in West Java who were exposed to Omicron, 14 people with West Java ID cards were detected, so they are still safe," said Ridwan Kamil, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 11.
Ridwan Kamil asked all parties to ensure that the spread of the virus is under control, every area in the West Java region needs to do 3T (testing, tracking and handling) for residents who are exposed. Especially if there are residents who have just come from abroad.
That's because Omicron is more infectious even though its fatality is not as severe as the Delta variant.
"The first door anticipates residents who are known to have traveled from abroad. Hopefully with our vigilance we can control Omicron better," said Emil.
He said that currently 14 West Java residents who were exposed to the Omicron variant of COVID-19 had undergone intensive treatment.
The West Java Provincial Health Office (Dinkes) stated that they are currently undergoing treatment at the Wisma Atlet Jakarta Hospital and Al Ihsan Baleendah Hospital, Bandung Regency.
As many as ten people are quarantined at the Jakarta Athlete's Wisma and four are suspected to be in Bandung Regency.
"We are currently tracing, but we are sure that everything comes from overseas trips. We suspect that the Bandung Regency has returned from abroad, now we are investigating," he said.
