Significantly Increase, Number Of Children Recipient Of COVID Vaccine In Purbalingga Reaches 60,561 People
PURBALINGGA - The Health Office of Purbalingga Regency, Central Java informed that as many as 60,561 children aged 6-11 years in the local area have been injected with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine since implementation began.
"According to the latest data per day, the total number of children aged 6-11 who have received the first dose of vaccination is 60,561 children," said Head of the Purbalingga Health Office, dr. Jusi Febrianto in Purbalingga, Antara, Tuesday, January 11.
With a figure of 60,561 it means that it has reached 65.38 percent of the 92,635 child vaccination target in this region.
"Last week, the number of children aged 6-11 in the local area who had been injected with the COVID-19 vaccine was 21,489, compared to today's data, there has been a significant increase," he said.
He said the increase in child vaccination coverage was the result of collaboration from various related parties, ranging from the ranks of the district government, TNI and Polri including parents.
"We hope that the implementation of the child vaccination program in the local area will continue to run smoothly according to the expected target. So that children can be protected in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
In addition, his party also reminded the importance of vaccinating children in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Covid-19 vaccinations for children need to be carried out to provide protection and increase immunity in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, vaccination for children is also needed to accelerate the achievement of communal immunity or 'herd immunity' in the Purbalingga Regency area," he said.
He also added that technically the vaccination for a total of 92,635 children was carried out in their respective schools.
Purbalingga Regency Government, he said, hoped that on January 15, 2022, the implementation of the vaccination program for children aged 6-11 years could be completed in accordance with the expected target.
