Danrem Reveals Positive Cases Of The First Omicron Variant Of COVID-19 In Bogor
BOGOR - The commander of Korem (Danrem) 061/Suryakancana, Brigadier General Ahmad Fauzi revealed that there was the first Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Bogor Regency, West Java, namely a resident from the Dramaga District.
"We convey that there is one infected with the Omicron variant in Bogor Regency, namely in the Dramaga District," he said after reviewing the implementation of child vaccination at SDIT Al-Madinah, Cibinong, Bogor, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, January 11.
He explained that the resident who was exposed to Omicron was a 28-year-old man.
According to the Danrem, the youth has been confirmed positive since January 6, 2022, and is currently undergoing treatment in Jakarta.
He mentioned that the local COVID-19 Handling Task Force had tracked the person concerned, thus finding as many as 10 people who were in close contact.
"Based on the results of the check, out of 10 people who had close contacts tested negative, so we are now focusing on that one person," he said.
"For Omicron, we are still focusing. What we can clearly convey is that from our five Korem regions, specifically for Bogor Regency, there is indeed one that has been hit in Dramaga," he said.
He admitted that he would continue to anticipate the spread of Omicron in the Korem 061 area with the COVID-19 Handling Task Force in each region.
"We hope that there will be no more (Omicron) spread, this is our focus, the TNI, Polri, including the forkopimda, are trying how we prevent together so that this Omicron variant does not enter our territory," said Ahmad Fauzi.
