JAKARTA - RI Attorney General ST Burhanuddin has received a report on alleged corruption in the procurement of Garuda Indonesia aircraft type ATR-72 Series 600 from SOE Minister Erick Thohir. Burhanuddin ensured that the report would be developed to the root of the problem. He also promised to complete it until Garuda is completely clean.
"If development is certain and God willing it will not stop here, we will develop it until Garuda is completely clean," he said at a press conference at the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, Tuesday, January 11.
Furthermore, Burhanuddin revealed that the alleged corruption occurred during the era of the ES leadership directors (Emirsyah Satar).
"For the ATR72-600 in the ES age and he is now in custody," he said.
Burhanuddin emphasized that the Attorney General's Office is ready to support the Ministry of BUMN to continue to clean up the BUMN environment. As before in the Jiwasraya and Asabri cases.
"This is mainly because we support the Ministry of SOEs in cleaning up and of course I also hope for support from the media that a clean SOE will be better. Of course under the leadership of Mr. Erick we will do it. The Prosecutor's Office will continue to support it," he said.
On the same occasion, Erick said that the indications of corruption in the procurement of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk aircraft, which he reported were not based on allegations. However, it is based on investigative evidence.
There are indications of corruption in the procurement of a number of Garuda Indonesia aircraft related to leasing or aircraft rental prices agreed between the previous management and the lessor or aircraft charter company. One of the procurements of aircraft types indicated by corruption is the ATR-72 Series 600 fleet.
"Especially today what the Attorney General's Office conveyed ATR-72-600, we are submitting investigative evidence. Because we are no longer accusing each other, but facts must be given. So it's not an accusation," he said.
