Erick Thohir Reveals Shocking Things, There Are Indications Of Corruption In Procurement Of Garuda Indonesia ATR-72 Series 600 Airplanes
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed indications of corruption in the procurement of the ATR-72 Series 600 aircraft belonging to the national airline Garuda Indonesia. Erick reported this indication to the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia.
"But what we also know is that the way the data is valid is indeed in the procurement of aircraft, the leasing has indications of corruption with different brands. Especially today what the Attorney General of ATR 72 Series 600 said," he said at a press conference, at the Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, Tuesday, January 11.
Erick said that his party had submitted the investigative audit evidence to the Attorney General's Office for follow-up. Even so, Erick was reluctant to reveal how much the state lost for this action.
"We also submit evidence of investigative audit evidence. So it's not an accusation, because we are no longer in the era of accusing each other, but there must be facts given," he said.
Furthermore, Erick said that his party really hopes that the case can be handled by the Attorney General's Office. Because, according to Erick, it is impossible for the BUMN transformation to not be supported by the Attorney General's Office.
"I thank you that so far, of course, not only in the case of Asabri, Jiwasraya but today Garuda from the Attorney General's Office continues to accompany us. Because what is important for us is the transformation rather than the administration that can be accounted for," he said.
Previously, former Garuda Indonesia Commissioner Peter F Gontha said that there was only one way to save Garuda Indonesia, namely through legal channels. As is known, Garuda is currently in a difficult financial condition. Even the company's debt has been mounting to reach Rp139 trillion.
"So we want to find a way out, right? In my opinion, the only solution for Garuda is a legal solution. The solution is to conduct a forensic investigation," he said during a discussion at the Parliament Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, December 1.
According to Peter, if you don't carry out a forensic investigation, you won't be able to know exactly what happened to Garuda Indonesia.
"We can only guess what actually happened or what PT Garuda Indonesia actually did," he said.
