BMKG Weather Forecast: Potential For Heavy Rain In Several Regions Of Indonesia, Tuesday, January 11
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts heavy rain that can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds has the potential to occur in several areas, including most of the islands of Sumatra, Java, and Kalimantan.
As reported by Antara, in the weather early warning on the BMKG website quoted in Jakarta, Tuesday, the provinces whose areas have the potential to experience heavy rain are Aceh, West Sumatra, Bengkulu, Jambi, South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, Banten, West Java, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, and Bali.
Other areas predicted to experience heavy rains are West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Maluku and West Papua.
BMKG also predicts the potential for rain with lighter intensity in Maluku and the potential for strong winds in the Riau Archipelago today.

Especially for the DKI Jakarta area, thunderstorms have the potential to occur in South Jakarta and East Jakarta during the day. Moderate rains are also forecast in West Jakarta with light rain for Central Jakarta and North Jakarta during the day.
Meanwhile, the entire administrative area of DKI Jakarta, except for the Thousand Islands, has the potential to experience light rain at night. The Thousand Islands and North Jakarta are forecasted to experience light rain in the early hours of the morning.
The BMKG also warned that several provinces were included in the alert category for the impact of heavy rains, such as floods, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Lampung, Riau Islands, DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, D.I. Yogyakarta, East Java, Banten, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan and South Sulawesi.
