Customers Increase, Natural Gas Distributed To Central Java And East Java Is 145.7 BBTUD
SURABAYA - Natural gas distribution in Central Java and East Java will increase throughout 2021. This is following the increase in the number of Pertamina gas subholding customers, PT PGN.
Where throughout 2021, the gas distributed was 145.7 BBTUD (billion British thermal units per day). This gas is distributed to customers in the household sector, small/SME customers, to industrial commercial.
General Manager Sales Operation Region (SOR) 3 for the East & Central Java Region, Iwan Yuli Widyastanto, detailed that the natural gas was distributed to 101,638 household customers, 352 small customers, and 560 industrial commercial customers, and 2 corporate customers.
"Throughout 2021, 17 additional new commercial industrial customers operating in the hospitality, paper, chemical, restaurant, mall, and fabricated metal sectors. In addition, 37 Small Customers were added, on average, engaged in laundry, catering, stalls/depots. , homemade cakes, including hospitals. The new customers are spread across Semarang, Surabaya, Pasuruan, and Bojonegoro," said Iwan in an official statement, Monday, January 10.
Then, said Iwan, assignments from the government and initiatives to expand household jargas continue to be carried out. In January – December 2021, the construction of jargas in SOR 3 has installed 71,799 Household Connections.
"For gas in or the first distribution to household customers at SOR 3 in 2021, 28,455 house connections have been reached," said Iwan.
Furthermore, in terms of developing and managing natural gas infrastructure, SOR 3 has integrated all of its subsidiaries and affiliates, so that the expansion of customer reach will be more flexible and effective.
"With an integrated natural gas infrastructure, it is expected to be one of the keys to the development of multisource natural gas-based energy and industrial and economic growth in Central Java & East Java," said Iwan.
The Gas Subholding in SOR 3 currently has assets of ± 200 km Kalija 1 Transmission Pipeline which carries natural gas from the Kepodang Field off the north coast of Semarang, 275 km Gresik-Semarang Transmission Pipeline with a pipe design capacity of 330 MMSCFD, Tambak Rejo ORF, Jumperline Tambak Lorok, and Mother Station CBG in Blora.
In East Java, there are natural gas pressure control and distribution stations as well as Jargas MRS spread across Sidoarjo, Pasuruan, Mojokerto, Surabaya, Probolinggo, and Gresik. Through Pertagas, Subholding Gas also has an ORF station and a Sidoarjo metering station, as well as a GRE Station in Gresik.
In addition, there are SPBG Ngagel in Surabaya, SPBG Kaligawe Semarang, and Mobile Refueling Unit (MRU) CNG in Gresik to distribute Gas Fuel (BBG).
Taking into account various factors, the use of natural gas greatly helps the competitiveness of its users. However, natural gas prices are still more competitive than other energies. Accessibility and natural gas services will continue to be improved so that the positive impact of using natural gas can be felt as one of the drivers of the community's economy.
