Receive Reports Of Alleged Corruption And ML Gibran-Kaesang, KPK Will Verify And Review

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that it had received a report on allegations of corruption and money laundering by the two children of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Kaesang Pangarep.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri said that the report submitted by the Jakarta State University (UNJ) lecturer who was also a '98 activist, Ubedilah Badrun, was received by the Correspondence Section of the KPK and will be followed up.

"KPK will follow up on every report from the public. Of course, by first verifying and reviewing the data for this report," Ali told reporters, Monday, January 10.

Ali said this follow-up would begin by verifying the attached data.

"Verification to produce recommendations whether the complaint deserves to be followed up with a review process or be archived," he said.

In addition, the process, continued Ali, is also important to ensure that allegations of corruption reported are in accordance with their authority or not.

"KPK will also proactively track and collect various additional information and information to complete the reported complaint," said Ali.

"If the complaint becomes the authority of the KPK, it will certainly be followed up in accordance with applicable legal provisions," he added.

Previously reported, Gibran and Kaesang were reported by Ubedilah for being suspected of corruption and money laundering (TPPU).

"This report is related to allegations of corruption and/or money laundering (TPPU) related to allegations of KKN in business relations between the president's son and a business group suspected of being involved in forest fires," Ubedilah told reporters, Monday, January 10.

There is also an incident called Ubedilah that started in 2015. At that time, there was a large company named PT SM which was already a suspect in forest fires and had been sued by the Ministry of Environment for a value of Rp. 7.9 trillion.

The Supreme Court (MA) then only granted the claim of Rp. 78 billion. Ubedilah said this happened after President Jokowi's son formed a joint company with a high-ranking subsidiary of PT SM in February 2019. With this condition, the allegations of corruption, collusion and nepotism very clearly involved Gibran, Kaesang, and the children of PT SM officials because of the injection. equity participation funds from venture companies. "Twice were given the disbursement of funds. The figure was approximately Rp. 99.3 billion in the near future. After that, the president's son bought shares in a company whose figure was also quite fantastic at Rp. 92 billion," said Ubedilah.

"And that for us is a big question mark, can a young person who has just set up a company easily get a capital investment with a quite fantastic figure if he is not the president's son," he added.
