Regarding Juve's Comeback Against Roma, Assistant Allegri: It's Like Losing 6 Years Of Life
JAKARTA - The 21st week of the 2021/2022 Italian League belongs to Juventus, who made a successful comeback at AS Roma's headquarters with a 4-3 victory. This situation not only made the hearts of Juventus fans beat fast, but also Marco Landucci who served as a substitute for Allegri in this match.
The assistant said this match really worried him because there were many unexpected moments. But, in the end the Bianconerri can go home with a proud face.
"Today I lost 5-6 years of my life, it feels lost because I watched a thrilling match," Landucci said as quoted by Football Italia.
"But we are happy with De Sciglio's goal," he said.
In the match which took place at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday, January 10 in the morning WIB, Juventus appeared without the coach's escort. Massimiliano Allegri has been ruled out due to suspension.
Without Allegri, the match was tense, Juventus conceded first through a goal scored by Tammy Abraham. Fortunately, Paulo Dybala was able to equalize seven minutes later.
Roma went crazy again in the second half. They managed to score two additional goals resulting from the action of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Lorenzo Pellegrini. The position lasted until the 70th minute and Roma looked to be winning the game.
But who would have thought that the moment would turn into a nightmare for the hosts. The reason is, Manuel Locatelli, Dejan Kulusevski, and Mattia De Sciglio took turns tearing Rui Patricio's goal and making Juventus turn 4-3 ahead.
Juventus' victory was slick. But that doesn't necessarily erase the ugliness that was seen during this duel. Landucci explained why Juventus could appear as tense as in that match.
"We started with fear. We wanted to play attacking but conceded from set pieces. We changed something in the second half because we struggled to score goals," he explained.
"The second goal was a shame, we threw the ball away. It happens a lot, it's not a coincidence. Then we showed confidence well, the second goal helped and gave us confidence." he said.
Juventus' comeback at home to Rome makes the Old Lady's points now total to 35 points, which automatically pushes them up to fifth place in the standings. Meanwhile, AS Roma who can't do anything are still stuck in seventh position with a total of 32 points.
