Jordi Amat And Sandy Walsh Cancel Defending The Indonesian National Team At FIFA Matchday, PSSI Calls Documents Incomplete

JAKARTA - It is confirmed that Sandy Walsh and Jordi Amat will not play for the Indonesian national team in the FIFA Matchday agenda. Whereas previously, these two young footballers were strong candidates to be included in the projection of the Garuda Squad.

PSSI Executive Committee member Hasani Abdulgani said Walsh and Amat had not been able to join the Indonesian national team because the document requirements needed to become Indonesian citizens (WNI) had not been met.

"Not able to (play in the national team for FIFA Matchday). There are still (document files) that are lacking. They are waiting to be completed," Hasani said in a written statement received by VOI, Monday, January 10.

Previously, it was known that the Indonesian national team had been waiting for the FIFA Matchday agenda for the period from January 24 to February 2. The plan is that the Garuda squad will play a test match against Bangladesh in Bali twice.

Based on the agenda, Shin Tae-yong as the head coach intends to call a number of names of descendants to join his team. So far it is known that there are four names as candidates, they are Sandy Walsh, Jordi Amat, Mees Hilgers and Ragnar Oratmangoen.

If Sandy and Jordi fail to appear this January due to incomplete documents, Mees Hilgers and Ragnar Oratmangoen have not submitted documents of Indonesian lineage.

PSSI itself reportedly continues to strive for the four players to get Indonesian Citizen Identity Cards (KTP) so they can defend the Indonesian national team.
