Social Minister Risma Hands Over Aid For Flood Victims In Sembakung Kaltara

TARAKAN - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini handed over aid to flood victims in Roof Village, Sembakung District, Nunukan Regency, North Kalimantan, Sunday, January 9.

Risma stated that she would help in accordance with her duties and responsibilities as Minister of Social Affairs.

"For that I will help in the form of clean water supply. I will immediately send officers to ensure clean water assistance," he said in a release received in Tarakan, Monday.

He also traveled along the Sembakung River by fast boat. Social Minister Risma took more than two hours to arrive in the area that experiences annual flooding.

In addition, the problem of distributing social assistance, the availability of clean water, and diplomatic talks with Malaysia because the Sembakung River originates in Malaysian territory.

Social Minister Risma will also help provide boats for disaster management as part of fulfilling the completeness of the social granary in the RI-Malaysia border area.

"I will help with two boats with engines and availability of fuel. I will help with a large boat so that it accommodates disaster management personnel," he said.

For the social granary, Social Minister Risma asked the Regent of Nunukan Asmin Laura Hafid to confirm where the specified coordinate points are.

"I asked the Regent to confirm where the coordinates are. After it is determined, I will help," he said.

Symbolic aid was given in the form of logistical assistance, social granary assistance, and school equipment with a total value of IDR 1,074,713,800.

Logistics assistance was distributed from the Bekasi warehouse in the form of 1,000 packages of ready-to-eat food, 1,000 sheets of blankets, 200 packages of "kidsware", 200 sheets of mattresses, 200 packages of family kitchen utensils.

Logistics assistance was also provided for on-site purchases in the form of 4,000 cans of sardines, 40,000 packs of instant noodles (1,000 boxes), 1 liter of cooking oil, 1,500 bags, 2,000 kg of eggs, and 1,500 liters of mineral water with 1,500 bottles.

In addition, 2,500 packs of baby diapers, 1,000 packs of biscuits, 250 packs of sanitary napkins, 200 sets of adult clothes and 200 sets of children's clothes, five packs of water purifiers, 200 school bags, 100 pairs of boots, and cleaning package 100 packages (broom, water drain, bucket, dipper, and rag).

After meeting the residents, Social Minister Risma checked the distribution of social assistance at the Sembakung District Office.

Based on the data, he still found delays in the distribution of social assistance, while for the acceleration it would involve PT Pos Indonesia.

From Sembakung District, Social Minister Risma to Mansalong District, Nunukan Regency. Arriving when it was dark, he headed for the building for the collection of logistical assistance.

In addition to checking the availability and condition of aid items, he listened to the aspirations of traditional leaders, religious leaders, and public figures. Just like in Sembakung, in Mansalong Village, Lumbis District, the community also submitted a similar request. Paul Morang, a local traditional leader, submitted a proposal for relocating community dwellings from riverbanks to areas that are safer from disasters.

"There are around 6,000 families who need to be relocated," he said.

In addition, the problem of delays in the distribution of social assistance and data accuracy.

Social Minister Risma stated that she would immediately follow up on residents' requests related to her duties and functions.

"But those that are not my duties, such as relocation, I will convey to the Minister of Public Works," he said.

For the data, he emphasized that this is a regional authority. The data improvement process is carried out in stages from the village/kelurahan.

"I make a decree every month. So, gentlemen, do the repairs every month, sir," he said when checking the disbursement of social assistance at the local village hall building.

To the PKH Regional Coordinator and TKSK Coordinator, Social Minister Risma reminded that the distribution of social assistance in 2021 is still possible until January 14, 2022. He asked various related parties to ensure that all beneficiaries can disburse their assistance.
