A Total Of 57 Houses And 4 Public Facilities Were Damaged By The Halut Earthquake
JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of North Halmahera (Halut) Regency reported that an earthquake on Monday, January 10 at around 06.59 WIT with a magnitude of 5.5 damaged 57 houses and four public facilities.
"A total of 57 houses were damaged, including 34 lightly damaged houses, 18 moderately damaged houses, five heavily damaged houses plus four public facilities, namely three houses of worship and one Kusuri Village Office slightly damaged," said the Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division. Halut Regency BPBD Heni Toga was contacted from Ternate, reported by Antara, Monday, January 10. As for the material losses, it cannot be estimated because currently, the BPBD team is currently conducting data collection in the field.
For this reason, Heni said, currently, the Halut Regency BPBD is collecting data and coordinating with the local village head regarding the earthquake victims in Halut and for victims who suffered injuries due to the earthquake, they have been rushed to the nearest hospital. He stated that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.5. In Halut Regency it has an impact on a number of sub-districts including West Tobelo District, West Kao such as Kusuri Village, Wangongira Village, Soamaetek Village, Pitago Village and Kai Village. In addition, said Heni, currently the Halut Regency BPBD has recorded at least one people were moderately injured due to broken bones and one person was lightly injured and at this time, BPBD has prepared refugee tents and logistics for the needs of the victims who are looking for a place of refuge that is considered safe.
