In Addition To Being Good At The Track, Lewis Hamilton Also Has A Knack For Business: Ready To Launch His Own Jewelery Line
JAKARTA - The famous Formula 1 racer, Lewis Hamilton, has a new business plan. She wants to launch her own jewelry line.
The 37-year-old world champion has applied for a trademark for the use of his name in various goods. The brand will include jewelry, watches, precious metal art and key chains.
In addition to being good at the track, Hamilton feels he has business talent. Quoting the Daily Star, Monday, January 10, Hamilton previously said that he had the expertise to choose certain businesses.
"I often think, I'm pretty good in choosing the business that I pursue," he said.
Hamilton previously brought luxury watchmaker Hamilton International to court over trademark matters. He wanted to prevent the company from patenting their name because it used the Hamilton surname.
This effort is because Hamilton has plans to issue a trademark under the name Lewis Hamilton. Thus, Hamilton International will become an unfair business competition.
However, Hamilton lost in legal proceedings with the Swiss company. For that, he must use his full name on any jewelry that is included in his new business plan.
Hamilton was no stranger to new business ventures. He is already an ambassador for the watch company IWC and has proven to be a savvy entrepreneur.
Its vegan burger chain, Neat Burgers, has become a hit and there are plans to open 30 more branches.
The Mercedes driver, who celebrates his birthday on Friday, is also expected to battle it out for his eighth world title next season.
