The TNI Commander Inaugurates The N250 Aircraft Monument At The Yogyakarta Muspusdirla

JAKARTA - The TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto inaugurated the Gatotkaca N250 Airplane Monument at the Mandala Air Force Central Museum (Muspusdirla), Adi Sutjipto Lanud, Yogyakarta, Wednesday, August 26.

"What is in front of us now is once again proof of the greatness and love of the nation's children for their country as well as love for the advancement of science and technology," said Hadi Tjahjanto in his remarks after inaugurating the monument, reported by Antara.

Hadi said, the placement of the N250 Gatotkaca at Muspusdirla was aimed at capturing the best works of the nation's children in the development of aviation technology.

"The inauguration of this monument also gives the highest award to BJ Habibie as the father of Indonesian technology who has contributed to making Indonesia proud through his works including the N250 Gatotkaca," he said.

The Gatotkaca N250 aircraft, he said, is a masterpiece that has made all Indonesian people proud since its maiden flight on August 10, 1995 which is now designated as National Technology Awakening Day.

He said the aircraft made by PT Dirgantara Indonesia which was initiated by the Third President of the Republic of Indonesia BJ Habibie, carried the world's first fly by wire technology as well as various advanced technologies of its time.

Hadi hopes that with the construction of the monument, the nation's future generations will be inspired by the persistence of their predecessors in mastering aerospace technology.

Director General and Human Resources of PT Dirgantara Indonesia Sukatwikanto said that although on August 10, 1995 the plane shocked the world because it successfully flew for the first time, but development of the aircraft had to be stopped due to the monetary crisis that hit Indonesia in 1998. not yet obtained certification, "he said.

Head of the Air Force Information Service (Kadispenau), Marsma TNI Fajar Adriyanto explained that the placement of the N250 prototype aircraft at the Yogyakarta Muspusdirla was at the request of the TNI Commander Hadi Tjahjanto since he was still KSAU.

"Why at the Yogyakarta Muspusdirla, at the request or idea of the TNI Commander, Hadi Tjahjanto when he was KSAU," he said.

"He wants this proud aircraft to be witnessed by all Indonesian people," said Fajar.
