Progressive Rock Legend Queensryche Returns To Studio, Records New Album
JAKARTA - Queensryche has entered the studio to record a new album. The album was produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, who has worked with the progressive rock legend on Condition Hüman (2015) and The Verdict (2019).
The news about this was known through Zeuss's upload on Instagram. He teased fans with a photo of drummer Casey Grillo's drum kit with the caption: "RŸCHE in progress.. @caseyjgrillo."
Last November, vocalist Todd La Torre told The Metal Voice Canada about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band's new album.
"We have all the songs that we will record. We will start recording in early January," he said.
Regarding the musical direction of Queensryche's new material, Todd said that the music is nothing like The Verdict album.
"It's a new breed of its own. We really just focused more on the melodic hook. I don't think we went in thinking, like, 'Oh, we need to sound old school or new or this,' says Todd.
"You know what we did on this album... Every time, everyone would submit their own song idea and then we would work on it."
