Find Cause Of Fire Attorney General's Building, Police Check 59 People

JAKARTA - The joint team of the National Police continues to seek information to reveal the cause of the fire at the AGO (AGO) building. In total, 59 people have been examined as witnesses.

"We have already asked for 59 witnesses. We will continue to investigate this fire, so that later we can find out what really happened," said Head of Public Relations of the Police, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, Wednesday, August 26.

Dozens of witnesses, said Argo, are cleaners, casual daily workers (PHL), and building technicians. In addition, a team from the Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) has collected samples from the building.

"The team took samples of charcoal ash from inside the building and brought them to the Puslabfor to be examined," he said.

During the investigation, the Puslabfor team also took several surveillance cameras or CCTV. It is hoped that the CCTV will find a bright spot on the cause of the fire that occurred on Saturday, August 22.

Later, the CCTV footage will also be studied by Puslabfor. The goal, to clarify the blurry image when the incident occurred.

The Attorney General's Office building caught fire on Saturday, August 22 at 19.10 WIB. It took nearly 12 hours to put out the fire.

Previously, Kapuspenkum at the AGO, Hari Setiyono, dismissed the speculation over the alleged AGO building fire.

"Suspicion is fine, but there must be a basis. Those who say know not about this building, the building does not keep the case files. Suspicious if it is not supported by evidence, sorry to slander," said Hari, Monday, August 24.

Hari emphasized that there was no connection between the fire incident and the case being handled, referring to the burning building. Because the fire, according to him, did not burn the room that held the case files for the Pinangki prosecutor.

"I have repeatedly explained that the building is in the field of guidance, intelligence sector, Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General. (Meanwhile) Case files in the Pidsus area are quite far away safe, do not burn. General criminal acts where in the general criminal field the distance is sufficient. far away, "said Hari.

Hari said that no files or data were burned even though the Junior Attorney General for Intelligence (Jamintel) was on fire. Because the room is not intended as a data storage area.
