Deputy Mayor Of Makassar Fatmawati Rusdi Condemns The Case Of Child Victims Of Human Trafficking Doused In Hard Water

MAKASSAR - Deputy Mayor of Makassar Fatmawati Rusdi asked the police to immediately investigate thoroughly and condemn the case of violence against a girl with the initials RN (15), a junior high school student who was abused and doused with hard water.

"I strongly condemn the actions of the perpetrators, and hope that the police will immediately investigate thoroughly," said Fatma in a firm tone in Makassar, South Sulawesi, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 7.

His party also suspected that there was a human trafficking network in the incident. He hopes that the police will immediately investigate the perpetrators of human trafficking.

"We hope that this human trafficking network will soon be thoroughly investigated. We are very sad to hear of such incidents. We must stop this, so that such incidents do not occur," he stressed.

According to the information gathered, the victim, RN, was abused by the perpetrator and then doused with hard water, causing burns all over his body. It was suspected that the victim would also be taken out of the area, but the family refused. It is suspected that the perpetrator is a human trafficking network.

The victim's address is known to be at Pampang Village, Panakkukang District. Currently the victim has been treated at the Daya Hospital after being taken and accompanied by the UPT PPA Makassar Team.

For handling victims, the Deputy Mayor has instructed through UPT PPA Makassar to accompany and report at any time the development of the victim's health.

"Give the best treatment to our child. Once again, the Makassar City Government strongly condemns, and will continue to synergize with the police to prevent child trafficking," he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of PPA Makassar, Achi Soleman, said that after receiving information regarding the incident, the team was immediately dispatched to the victim's house and accompanied him to the hospital.

"We will assist the victim at the Daya Hospital. Tomorrow, we will go to the Makassar Police PPA Unit to assist the victim's family to get legal treatment. The victim's family has reported this incident," he said.

"The method is that this child is planned to be sent to the area to be sold, because the child refused, he was then doused with hard water by the perpetrator," said Achi Sulaiman.
