5,511 People In Cirebon Become Unemployed Due To COVID-19
CIREBON - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Cirebon City, West Java, recorded 5,511 people in the area were unemployed because they were directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We have data that 5,511 people have become unemployed because of COVID-19," said Head of the Cirebon City BPS Joni Kasmuri in Cirebon, as reported by Antara, Friday, January 7.
Because of the pandemic, he said, they were laid off from their work area.
Overall, there were 36,885 people affected by COVID-19, with the breakdown of unemployment due to COVID-19 amounting to 5,511 people, not the work force (BAK) due to COVID-19 1,513 people.
"While not working because of COVID-19, there are 2,065 people, and 27,796 people who are working who have reduced working hours due to COVID-19," he said. .
The labor force participation rate (TPAK) also decreased by 0.89 percentage points from 63.76 percent in August 2020 to 62.87 in August 2021.
"In the last year, unemployment decreased by 765 people. The working population was 139,397 people, an increase of 63 people compared to August 2020 conditions," he said.
