The Alleged Case Of Bahar Smith's Hate Speech To State Officials, West Java Police Examines 1 Reporting Witness

JABAR - The West Java Police Investigative Team examined another witness related to Bahar Smith's new case based on reports of alleged hate speech.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo, said that one witness with the initials AW was the reporting witness. The case is a case that was transferred from the Polda Metro Jaya to the Polda West Java on Thursday.

"AW has arrived and investigators have examined him to clarify," said Ibrahim at the West Java Regional Police, in Bandung, Antara, Friday, January 7.

In addition to being a suspect in a hoax case, Bahar Smith is now entangled in another case from reports of men with the initials HS and AW with Number LP/B/6146/XII/2021/SPKT Polda Metro Jaya. The report was submitted to the Polda Metro Jaya on December 7, 2021.

Before being transferred to the West Java Police, the Metro Jaya Police had examined a number of witnesses, ranging from the reporting witness HS to five expert witnesses.

In this case, Bahar was reported on suspicion of hate speech directed at state officials.

Thus, Bahar Smith is now faced with two different cases. In the hoax case, Bahar has been named a suspect, while in the hate speech case, Bahar is still the reported status.

"We will see the progress, because this is the dynamics of the investigation process, we must not assume that the evidence is aligned with the evidence received," said Ibrahim.
