Gus Dur's Younger Brother Responds To Ferdinand Hutahean's Tease 'Your God Is Weak': Understood, He May Not Have Time To Study
JAKARTA - The younger sister of the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur, Lily Wahid spoke about Ferdinand Hutahaean's tweet 'Your God is weak' which was viral and polemic. Moreover, social media activist Denny Siregar had compared Ferdinand's tweet to Gus Dur's statement about divinity.
Lily said that as a convert to Islam, Ferdinand had not learned much, so he arbitrarily stated things that did not need to be debated.
"Understandably, he is a convert and may not have had time to study," said Lily when contacted by VOI, Friday, January 7th.
According to him, Ferdinand must learn more before speaking. Moreover, one of the ways of jihad is to open oneself to knowledge.
Furthermore, he said that the polemic about this tweet did not really need to happen. Lily said, God is definitely strong.
In addition, Gus Dur's younger brother assessed that Ferdinand had misinterpreted his brother's statement which contained Allah is Strong, so that he did not need to be defended with violence.
"It is certain that God is strong and impossible (weak, ed). If you look at God's statement, there is no need to defend Gus Dur's statement as a person who understands Sufism. ," he said.
Thus, Lily asked Ferdinand to study again before making statements like this.
"Yes (Ferdinand should study again, ed)," he said.
"Because when it comes to God being strong, it's part of our belief, how come our faith is that God is strong. So, we don't have to discuss God being strong or weak because it's part of our faith," added Lily.
As previously reported, Ferdinand Hutahaean was in the spotlight because of his tweet on his Twitter account @FerdinandHaean3 on January 4, 2022.
"It's a pity that your God is weak and must be defended. If I were, my God is extraordinary, omnipotent, HE is always my defender and my God doesn't need to be defended," wrote Ferdinand on his Twitter account, @FerdinandHaean3.
As a result of this upload, the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police reported Ferdinand to the police. It didn't take long for the status of the case to be upgraded from an investigation to an investigation on Thursday, January 6.
In this case, Ferdinand is suspected of violating Article 45 a paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph 2, Law 11 of 2008 concerning ITE, and Article 14 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code.
